The 75th Independence Day was celebrated with a lot of gusto in the Academy. The special function started with the hoisting of the national flag by the chief guest, Ma'am Margaret Decastro , the senior teacher of the Academy, Rev. Sr. Principal and Rev. Sr. Kala. After the singing of the national anthem, the march past was conducted by the students cabinet as per the commands of Sir Mohd. Shahad.
It was followed by the address extended by Sahil of class XII-A1 and the articulation of the Preamble to the Constitution of India by Ma'am Kanika Goyal. After that the Marian choir spread the patriotic vibes with the melodious patriotic song, "Saare Jahaan se acha, Hindustan hamara".
It was followed by the special address extended by Ma'am Cheryl Williams who highlighted on the significance of this great day and the achievements of our nation in the span of these challanging 75 years. Then Ma'am Margaret Decastro made all students enthusiastically repeat Vande Matram after her.
The function was concluded with the vote of thanks proposed by Rev. Sr. Principal who not only saluted the selfless efforts of the freedom fighters but also praised the tireless efforts of the Covid Warriors towards safeguarding the country against the Pandemic. She expressed big thanks to all the teachers involved in the preparation and conducting of the programme as well as the the entire teaching, office and supporting staff. After the function, the packed snacks were served to all.
It is note worthy that in the history of the Academy, first time a senior teacher has been honoured to preside the Independence Day function as the chief guest.
