Description:
On 13th August 2022, Standard Writing Competition was held for the students of Standard club. The competition was graced by Ma’am Suchi, a resource person from the Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS). The competition was led under the able guidance of mentors, because of whose support and counsel, the contest was successful.
Before beginning the competition, Ma’am Suchi gave all the students an introduction and briefly went into the details of standards, standardization, certification, the process of getting a product standardized, the proper format to be followed during the writing contest, about BIS, etc. She was au fait about BIS and standards and the way she imparted her knowledge to students was truly inspiring to see. Her passion was evident in her words and ways.
Students were seated in groups of seven, each group consisting of four-five members, work equally divided among all. The students showed great interest and enthusiasm in listening attentively to the orientation program and taking part in the contest. Each group had been assigned a topic (notebook, duster, etc.) and were given time to research on their topics. The contest commenced shortly after the orientation program was over. A spirit of determination and healthy competition filled the hall. Each group keenly brainstormed and discussed their topics and wrote their reports. All groups completed their reports within an hour and half.
Once the entries were submitted, the submissions were scanned and projected on a smart board for all to see. Each group came forward to present their topic. Some groups sent one or two representatives while some involved all their members. The speakers from all groups articulated their point remarkably and explained their content with patience and passion. The effort put in by all groups was phenomenal and their hard work shined dazzlingly. Their confidence and fervor projected in hall.
Once all groups had presented their topic, the panel of judges pored over the submissions and keenly discussed over the groups and all the factors that constituted towards winning. All groups sat with baited breaths, waiting patiently for the results to be announced.
The final result was announced by Ma’am Suchi. All the members from second runner-ups, the runner-ups, and the first price holders groups were presented a cash price. They were beaming with joy while all groups cheered on for each other. The winners took photos with Ma’am Suchi, Sister Principal, the panel of judges and mentors.
